The tree does not have a lighted base, but I have found it to be very beautiful with a LED Light Bar placed inside. This also makes it more convenient to place ANYWHERE in your home since there is no need for an outlet to be nearby and there is no cord. Other then there being no base, there is one bulb that is broken off but it is not noticeable as the peg is still glued in emanating the orginal bulb color. No other issues to note.
