Powered by a 12th Gen Intel Core i7 processor with 12 cores and Intel UHD Graphics 770, it delivers the computing headroom required for real-time 4K video editing, smooth media streaming, and multitasking across several users.

You can load the enclosure with eight 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch SATA drives for high-capacity storage and add two NVMe SSDs in the dedicated M.2 slots to create caching tiers that accelerate frequently accessed data. If your workflow grows, the unit scales further through QNAP JBOD expansion enclosures, supporting up to 396 TB of raw capacity.

Connectivity has been built for creative studios and small businesses that cannot afford bottlenecks. Dual Thunderbolt 4 ports let Mac and Windows workstations mount the NAS as fast local storage for editing directly off the system. Two 2.5 GbE network ports handle everyday file sharing and can be bonded for higher throughput, while USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports attach high-speed external drives or card readers.

The system runs on QuTS hero, a ZFS-based operating system that offers end-to-end data integrity, inline compression and deduplication, nearly limitless snapshots, and self-healing files to guard against silent corruption. Hardware-accelerated transcoding, combined with an HDMI port, allows the NAS to convert and display 4K media without relying on a separate workstation.
