The story on this doll is over one hundred and twenty-five years ago, teenager, Eliza Shirley – a “Hallelujah Lass”, as they were called in England – single-handedly started the Salvation Army in America. Her story is told in Wendy’s book, The Hallelujah Lass.
The doll, Eliza, is dressed in the navy wool serge precursor to the famous Salvation Army uniform and bonnet. She has strawberry blond hair and blue eyes.
The doll was made in the Lawton workshops in California in 2004 and only 175. This doll is number 24 of the 175.
This doll has never been taken out of the box or plastic wrap for display, I only took her out to take pictures. She is in perfect condition. She is jointed so you can pose her any way you want. In 2004 my stepmother paid 795 dollars for her so that is why I will not take anything less than 700. She passed away 2 years ago so I am trying to sell this doll for my dad.
