The Aleali May x Air Jordan 1 High Zoom CMFT “Califia” is an Spring 2021 collaboration between the celebrity stylist and sneaker designer and Jordan Brand. The partnership between the Los Angeles native and Jordan Brand began back in 2017 when the duo created a black-and-silver Jordan 1 colorway inspired by May’s upbringing in California. In the years since, May and Jordan have collaborated on premium-inspired colorways of the Air Jordan 6 and Air Jordan 10. Here, May returns to the Jordan 1, albeit on the Zoom CMFT, an alternate Jordan 1 model that features an updated comfort-driven construction and Zoom Air cushioning. Plush Royal leather appears on the forefoot, eyelets, mid-panel, and collar. Contrasting green leather can be found on the perforated toe and heel. The same green hue appears on the silk Swoosh and on the extended ankle collar. May modifies the Jordan 1’s signature “Wings” logo by constructing it into a solid cream colored chenille patch sans branding. Embossed “Nike Air” branding appears on the cream leather tongue and a blue “A” overlay is incorporated into the design of the laces. This version of the Air Jordan 1 features Zoom Air technology in the midsole, a departure from the traditional Air cushioning found in the Jordan 1 High OG edition. Release date: April 22, 2021.
